NEALANDSONS
A family website administered by Patricia Steed Neal

The  initial purpose for this site was to share pictures and family information among the descendents of William Murray, my great, great grandfather, who was among the more than two hundred miners who died in the explosion at the Fraterville, Tennessee, coal mine on May 19, 1902.  I have posted a porfolio of photgraphs taken in Fraterville, Briceville, and Jacksboro on May 19 and 20, 2002  while Jim and I were attending the centennial commemoration of the 1902 disaster. It is not in its final form but is, as least, useable.

I have been going through stacks of family photographs and have prepared a portfolio of those I thought other members of the family might enjoy. These scanned images are low resolution so that they will load relatively quickly on the Web. I will be glad to scan any of these photographs at a higher resolution for anyone who would like to download and print them. Or I can print and mail copies to anyone who would like for me to.

There are "navigation arrows" at the top of each page to help you move from page to page or picture to picture.

  4. Justin's sixth birthday.
Well, we finally bought a digital camera. Two special events provided Jim with opportunities to learn how to use it. One was Justin's sixth birthday. Jennifer's dad came up from Florida which made it even more special. The pictures here don't do justice to the event. Another dozen photos would have been fine had Jim adjusted settings correctly - especially "red eye" - - He says he will try to fix them on the computer and post a few here later.
  5. A visit from Mary Ruth Steed, a Great Grandmother.
A few days ago (August 6, 2003) my Mother, Mary Ruth Steed, came to Murfreesboro to see Justin and Ian..The Neals got together at Michael and Jennifer's. More photos, of course. We are especially glad to have had an opportunity to take a "family picture." As years go by we know it will be more and more difficult to get everyone together at the same time.
